1. Read between the shorelines – grab a book and chair, then head for the shore!

2. Cool pool, warm sun – Remember the opening scene in Lemon Yellow Lies?
“This is the life, isn’t it?” I said to Erin, who was splayed out on the inflatable pineapple. Reaching for the floating drink holder, I grabbed my strawberry lemon mojito and took a long sip. (From Book 1, Lemon Yellow Lies)

3. Hello Summer (and hello tulips!) – Doesn’t this remind you of the Spring Flower Festival in Book 2, Pearl White Peril?

4. Books, books and more books

5. Sun, Stories, Repeat

6. Whisks & Whiskers – Our FAVORITE fictional hangout!
Stepping inside the Whisks and Whiskers Cat Café, I was greeted by the rich smell of coffee, curious glances from a nearby pair of calico kittens, and a very worried-looking Dennis Appley, who was jogging toward me.
“Mornin’, Hadley.” Dennis spoke quickly, looking around as he approached. His ripped blue jeans and casual sweater told me he was off-duty today, and his sandy-blonde hair was disheveled as usual, giving off an air of cool indifference.
(From Book 4, Cider Orange Chaos)

7. Remember Hadley’s pineapple-slicing attempt in Berry Purple Betrayal?!?!?
“Using the sharp edge of your chef’s knife, cut through the green crown at the top of the pineapple, just like so…”
I nodded, then did as told by the thirteen-year-old fruit-slicing expert on YouTube.
Success! I had lopped off the crown. Aunt Deb was right; this wasn’t as hard as I’d thought. With my knife raised, knees slightly bent, I awaited further instructions from the YouTuber. I was ready to venture beyond canned pineapple. The barbed fruit would no longer intimidate me.

15. Isn’t Chip adorable? You can meet him in Book 1, Lemon Yellow Lies!
“That little yipper-yapper can’t go five minutes without fussing,” Erin said, frowning at Chip. “This is why you won’t find any dogs at Whisks and Whiskers. I’d have to change the name to Whisks and Whiners. Or Barks and Bites.”
“How about Forks and Fleas?” I added, laughing.
Chip paused his howling and looked at me. As usual, one of his eyes was closed as though it had gotten stuck while winking.
“Chi-ip,” I sang, stretching his name into multiple syllables. “Calm down, boy. Everything’s fine.”
The back door to the house opened and a tall young woman stepped outside. She wore a corporate-esque pantsuit and had a bright yellow dress slung over her forearm. Chip turned his nose to the sky and resumed howling.
