About

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my website. I’m the author of Big Fat Positive, as well as a freelance writer and editor.

I spend my time rearranging the 26 letters of the alphabet to create chapters for my books, copy for my clients, and content for various magazines. When I’m not wrangling words, I’m wrangling my sweet children alongside my husband,
Miles.

I’m an award-winning public relations professional and writer with more than 15 years’ experience on both the PR and media sides of the table. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Journalism degree and the University of Houston with a Master’s in Public Relations. I’ve worked in news radio, corporate PR (at Shell and Chevron Phillips), and I founded Oberton Communications in 2016. I’m also the managing editor of the Bamboo Telegraph magazine.

If you love writing and books as much as I do, then you’re in the right spot! I share writing advice and inspiration on my Writing Tips page, and I post book recommendations, creative book club ideas, and other bookish info on my Book Lovin’ page. If you want to laugh about the sugar and spice of everyday life, be sure to check out my Blatherings blog.

Stay in touch! Subscribe to my weekly-ish newsletter for fun book-related news and info, or connect with me on Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook or LinkedIn.
