LOOKING FOR A FUN SUMMER READ?

About

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my website. I’m Emily, and I’m a public relations professional, novelist and freelance writer. Although I consider Texas my home, my family and I are living in Singapore on an expat assignment, where we’re exploring this beautiful side of the world.

I spend my time rearranging the 26 letters of the alphabet to create engaging copy for my clients, chapters for my fiction books, and content for my blog. When I’m not wrangling words, I’m wrangling my sweet children alongside my husband, Miles.

I’m an award-winning public relations professional and writer with more than 15 years’ experience on both the PR and media sides of the table. I’ve worked in news radio, corporate PR (at Shell and Chevron Phillips), and I founded Oberton Communications LLC in 2016. If you’re looking for a writer and public relations professional, head over to my Services page to learn how I can help your brand succeed.

If you love writing and books as much as I do, then you’re in the right spot! I share writing advice and inspiration on the Writefully Written page, and I post book recommendations, creative book club ideas, and other bookish info on my Book Lovin’ page. If you want to laugh about the sugar and spice of everyday life, be sure to check out my Blatherings blog.

Since graduating from Texas A&M University (undergrad) and the University of Houston (Master’s), I’ve written countless press releases, bylined articles, speeches, video scripts, stories for company publications, and other PR/marketing copy. My work has also been published in First for Women magazine, Houstonia magazine’s food blog, and I’m currently finalizing my first novel.

I’d love to learn more about you! Get in touch with me via the contact form provided, or connect with me on Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook or LinkedIn.
