About Me

Emily Oberton, Houston Writer | Blogger | Book Clubber

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the blogosphere. I’m Emily, and I’m a Houston-area writer, blogger, and book clubber.

I spend my time rearranging the 26 letters of the alphabet to create engaging copy for my clients, content for my blog, and chapters for my fiction books. When I’m not wrangling words, I’m wrangling my sweet children alongside my husband, Miles.

If you love words as much as I do, then you’re in the right spot! I love sharing writing advice and inspiration, which you’ll find on the writing page. If you need some fun ideas for your next book club meeting, you’ll find plenty on the Book Club HQ page. Want to laugh about the sugar and spice of everyday life? Be sure to check out my blatherings blog.

Since graduating from Texas A&M University (undergrad) and the University of Houston (Master’s), I’ve worked as a news radio reporter, public relations manager, and freelance writer. My work has been published in First for Women magazine, Houstonia magazine’s food blog, and I’m currently writing my second novel.

If you are looking for a marketing copywriter and public relations professional, head over to obertoncomm.com, which provides details on my consulting services.

Beginning early next year, I’ll be writing from Singapore (so excited!). My family and I are moving there for a couple of years, and I CAN’T WAIT to explore the country and share our adventures.

I’d love to learn more about you! Leave a comment below to introduce yourself and describe where you are in your writing journey! Or, connect with me on Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook or LinkedIn.
